Bike mechanic basics

Our beginner-friendly mechanics series focuses on practical, everyday bike fixes that are valuable for any rider. Fixing flats, installing wheels, mounting tires (tubes or tubeless), minor gear adjustments, and adjusting brakes will all be covered in your 2 hour basic course.

We encourage you to bring your own bicycle so you can ask particular questions about your setup. We keep classes casual and small, so that you can have your questions answered in a no-pressure setting. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase, and often make working on bikes easier.

Tire Tech Talk & Happy Hour

Do you puzzle over pressure? Go on tirades about tread patterns? Squeal about sealant? This is your night! Hang out with the Smokehouse staff and tire brand reps over a beverage while we chat about what makes tires different for different applications and how the details of size, tread, TPI, rim tech, inserts, pressure, and sealant all play into your tire's performance. We will show some cool new products and test a few tubeless repair gadgets at the end, as well as lend some helpful tubeless repair tips.

We will have example tires and wheels in house, just bring yourself! We will have light snacks for all and the bar will be open!
