ozark mountain smokehouse est. 1976

The “Old Smokehouse,” as it’s commonly reffered to by locals, was the home of some of the finest smoked hams and turkeys in the region. Since the 1940s, the Sharp family produced meats and other farmhouse delicacies on Kessler Mtn. for sale all across the Ozarks. For about the last 20 years, this landmark has served as a space for ecology education, theater, retail, design, and much more.

Smokehouse Cycles is located in the “Slicing and Packing” room, which was traditionally kept below 60’F and served as the last stop before meat shipped out of the Smokehouse. We are proud to open these refrigerator doors to our friends and neighbors. We hope to serve as a community hub for trail users and all members of the community. Come on by, we’d love to give you a tour.

Our Team

We have a combined 35+ years in the bike industry and we are here to help.

Jake

Opening his own shop is a dream come true.

Jake is famous for pre-race bike overhauls and planning wreckless group rides. He still has favorite drainage ditches in Springdale he rode before there was any singletrack. A mountain biker at heart, we most often catch him jumping off rocks in the woods and flatting rear tires. Jake has an appreciation for all types of bikes and rides, though. He has 15 years experience in shops across the country and loves getting to know everyone who comes into the shop.

Luke

Faster than anybody else at the shop, with cooler hair than any Tony Hawk Pro Skater figure you ever created.

Luke is our in-house “kid,” but he’s grown up ripping these trails and will find any gap that’s worth sniping. He is our CushCore installation specialist and is readily learning the craft of fine bike mechanics. We hope to support Luke throughout his cycling career, wherever he takes it!

Gibby

We don’t know his real name… Some say Icky Sazatino - others say “bike guy” - we just call him Gib.

Nobody can slice up some Kessler tech like our main mechanic. Whatever it is, he’s been doing it before it was cool. He’s got a boundless knowledge of bike part compatibility and will get to the bottom of any rabbit hole. Meticulous is his M.O. - Gibby has a knack for getting your finicky bike issues just right and weaving a good tale while he’s at it.
